This is a premium filter which containing 350g of KDF55. This delivers improved performance at high flow rates, lead removal. Also gives the filter bacteriostatic properties, which reduces the likliehood of bacteria growing within the cartridge itself.
1025KDF/GAC Water Filter – Filter Stages
This is a 4 stage water filter, containing:
Stage 1: 5 micron Sediment Pad
A 5 micron sediment pad which blocks particulate matter including sand, silt, dirt, bio-slime, metal particles and other solid contaminants.
Stage 2: KDF55
KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) is a proprietary mixture of copper and zinc. When oxygenated water flows through this combination of metals, an electrochemical reaction occurs which changes the form of several contaminants while removing others.
Chlorine will lose an electron to the copper particles, turning into chloride – a harmless electrolyte. This is how KDF reduces the taste/odour of chlorine in water. If there is chloramine (chlorine plus ammonia) in the water, some of those molecules will be broken down into their constituent parts.
KDF can also reduce lead and has a bacteriostatic function, incapacitating bacteria which reduces the risk of bacterial growth in the cartridge.
This cartridge contains 350 grams of KDF which is more than most other KDF water filters contain.
Stage 3: Granular Activated Carbon
Granular activated carbon will reduce a wide range of chemical contaminants including chlorine, chloramines, volatile organic compounds. Also reduces any bad taste or odour present in your water.
Stage 4: 5 micron Sediment pad
A second sediment pad is the final stage of the filter, it prevents carbon from escaping the cartridge and acts as another sediment filter.
KDF media, when combined with carbon, is known to kill algae and fungi, control bacteria growth, reduce chlorine, pesticides, organic matter, rust, unpleasant taste and odour, hydrogen sulphide, iron, lead, nickel, chromium, cadmium, calcium, mercury and other organic compounds.
Coconut carbon will reduce bad taste and odours and by products from chlorine.
Ideal for situations where you need a higher flow rate or have low water pressure.
