Filter Options
Stage 1: Sediment and Dirt
The first stage of the system is a 5 micron sediment filter which will reduce sediment, rust, algae, sand, silt, fine metal particles and other particulate contaminants.
It is a high-quality Taiwanese-made pleated washable sediment filter with rubber end seals for improved performance. Much more robust than typical pleated washable sediment filter. Can be washed 4-5 times to remove the top layer of sediment and restore flow rate.

Stage 2: Limescale and Heavy Metal Reduction
Stage 2 is a OneStop Plus™ filter. It is an an innovative water conditioning filter which changes the form of calcium in the water to reduce limescale.
The calcium molecules are bound together as in a soft crystalised form, These crystals stay suspended in the water instead of precipitating out to form hard limescale.
The OneStop Plus™ protects your plumbing and water consuming appliances from scale-related damage. Also reduces limescale buildup in showers and sinks. A great option for protecting coffee machines, saunas, dishwashers, washing machines etc.
This filter technology is different to a traditional water softener, which uses ion exchange resin to remove calcium from the water. It does not require electricity, does not waste water, and will not make the water taste salty.
The soft crystals created by OneStop Plus™ will also attract some of the calcium carbonate build-up which may already be in your home’s plumbing — cleaning your plumbing by reducing existing limescale.
Please note: as this filter does not remove the calcium from the water but changes its form, some spotting may still be noticeable on glass surfaces like shower screens. However, this can be removed much more easily than hard limescale build-up.
The OneStop Plus™ can have a lifespan of 1-2 years as it usually reaches capacity based on heavy metal content rathe than hardness. The development of hard limescale will be an indication that the filter has reached full capacity.

Stage 3: (Bad Taste / Odours and Chemical Reduction)

The second stage contains a refillable carbon filter which reduces bad taste/odours and a wide range of chemical contaminants.
It uses a speciality form of carbon called Catalytic Carbon (ORC) which is made from crushed coconut shells. Catalytic carbon has been modified to have more surface area compared to standard Granular Carbon (GAC). This helps it break down and adsorb complex chemical molecules like chloramines, Glyphosate and pharmaceuticals very effectively.
It has more chemical reduction capacity and faster chemical reduction rates than standard granular carbon. This means it can achieve the same level of contaminant reduction as GAC at faster flow rates.
Catalytic carbon is particularly effective at breaking down chloramine (ammonia and chlorine) which has become a common additive to town water in Australia.
This filter will reduce a wide range of contaminants including:

Typical carbon lifespan 6-12 months for a 2-4 person household (varies based on water quality). The top of the filter is unscrewed, with old carbon dumped in the green bin or on your garden. You use 2kg bags of carbon to refill the filter.
(Optional) KDF55 can also be added to boost this filter’s performance. It is a patented mixture of copper, zinc and minerals. As oxygenated water flows through this media, an electrochemical process called oxidation/reduction (Redox) occurs, with certain contaminants losing or gaining electrons.
KDF makes some chlorine molecules lose electrons to become harmless chloride (an electrolyte) and it breaks up some chloramine molecules. Some heavy metals like lead are electroplated onto the copper, and some dissolved calcium is precipitated from aragonite – reducing limescale build-up slightly.
It improves carbon performance and lifespan as it reduces the chlorine/chloramine content of the water before it reaches the carbon.

Operational Notes
- Pressure Limits
If you suspect that your water pressure may exceed 80 PSI (550kpa) at any time, a 500 kPa (70 PSI) pressure limiting valve must be installed.
PR20 3/4″ BSP female 500 kPa pressure limiting valves are available in the options. - Port sealants
If your system has plastic ports do not use pipe dope or other liquid thread sealers. Use only Teflon tape to seal threaded connections. - Freight Costs
