Hi Flow Twin Caravan & RV Water Filter System – Filtration Process
Stage 1: 1025PS5 – 5 Micron Sediment Filter
First stage is a high flow 5 Micron Sediment Filter 1025PS5 which can remove sand, silt, dirt, rust, metal particles, mud, algae, and other particulate contaminants.
Keeps particulates out of your tank plus protects your internal plumbing and appliances from damage.
Stage 2: AP1025KDF/GAC – 5 Micron Carbon and KDF Filter
Second stage is a AP1025KDF/GAC Hi flow KDF and Silver Carbon Filter. This is a triple action filter with:
- Sediment pads
There are sediment pads on the top and bottom of the filter. They reduce particulate contaminants down to 5 microns in size. - KDF55
A proprietary blend of copper and zinc. As water flows through this combination of metals, certain contaminants will lose of gain electrons, changing them into harmless molecules. Reduces chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals, and hardness at fast flow rates. - Silver Carbon
Carbon adsorbs chemical contaminants and bad taste/odour from the water. Can reduce chlorine, volatile organic compounds, petrochemicals, herbicides, pesticides, and much more.
Because copper and silver are bacteriostatic, there is less risk of bacterial growth inside of the filter. This is very useful in a caravan or RV filter, as it may only be used intermittently.
The system as a whole will reduce high levels of Chlorine, Chemicals, Bad Taste, Odours, Dirt, Rust, Algae & Sediment. For clean, safe and great tasting water where ever you are.

Hi Flow Twin Caravan & RV Water Filter System – Installation Tips
STAGE I 1025PS – 5 micron micron poly spun sediment filter
STAGE II AP1025KDF/GAC- High Flow KDF55 + Silver GAC carbon filter
- Replacement Period
The sediment filters will need to be replaced every 6 – 12 months or as required. Use 10 micron or higher wherever the sediment content is heavy to severe. Otherwise use 1 to 5 micron under light to normal sediment conditions. The carbon filter should be replaced after 12 – 18 months depending on usage. - Storage
It is always best to remove filters from sumps when not in use and dry out thoroughly. - This carbon filter can be gently back-flushed of sediment build-up from time to time to extend life, however, do not use high pressure or flow rate and flush for only 5 – 10 litres.
- Closing sumps
Never use the housing spanner to tighten the filter housings, hand tighten only. - Flushing filters
After fitting new filters, turn the water supply line on slowly without the hose on the outlet side being connected. Once water is coming out of the system turn up the water flow and flush the new filters to remove any air and fines from the filters. Run until the water is clear with no bubbles, then connect into your system.
